Circular Reflections

A Cuban Contemporary Art Documentation Project

Circular Reflections

About the Artist Selection Process for Circular Reflections:

The artists participating in Circular Reflections were chosen through a highly selective process curated by independent artist/curator Miguel Rodez. The process is an ongoing search that has incorporated the work of nearly 100 artists as the project celebrates its tenth anniversary. From its inception, the project’s mission has been to document notable Cuban art through the work of accomplished artists with distinct, signature styles, bringing their contributions to the forefront of public attention.

Rather than utilizing open calls, Rodez personally scouted talent across the globe based on three core criteria:

Heritage: Artists of Cuban descent.

Artistic Identity: A highly developed, recognizable signature style.

Professional Standing: Prominence established through a robust artistic curriculum.

This rigorous curation has shaped the collection of participating artists featured here, whose comprehensive dossiers and work samples are included.

Circular Reflections remains an expanding project. Accomplished Cuban artists who possess an established signature style may express their interest in participating in the project through the Contact Form provided in this website.
