Style Description

Frank Izquierdo’s portfolio is characterized by fine-line graphite execution and subtle shading, exploring memory, experience, and self-perception. By stripping away color and concentrating on form, precise physical expression, and monochromatic gradients, his drawings transform the human figure into quiet visual meditations on resilience and diaspora.

Biography & Artistic Evolution

  • Academic Foundations: Born in Alquízar, Artemisa, Cuba, in January 1981. He developed a sophisticated command of figurative drawing through regional foundations and intensive self-directed study of classical illustration and monochromatic tonal values.

  • Exile, Translocation & Relocations: He relocated to the United States on September 24, 2003, and lived in Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and Miami, Florida. He participated in the art scene around the Milander Center and the Bird Road Art District.
